Parish Councils are the first tier of local government. They deliver a range of services at a community level. There are around 10,000 parish councils in England and Wales, made up of nearly 100,000 councillors. These first-tier councillors can respond to the needs of the community - delivering the services or representation it most needs. To do this well the councillors needs to hear from the community about local issues, so please keep in touch.

We need everyone including businesses to take part in an online vote for broadband funding for our area.
Kent County Council has announced that it has £20m of funding available to improve broadband speeds throughout the county. By registering a vote we are demonstrating the demand in this area for better broadband. The vote, which also includes a very brief survey, is both a way of gauging public support (from businesses, as well as home users) and also a way of collecting information.
You can register your vote at www.kent.gov.uk/broadband.
We would encourage you to spend a couple of minutes doing this, and also to urge your friends and neighbours in the area to do so as well.
The data collected will support an application to Kent County Council to fund an improvement in our broadand provision.
